This is the gold standard 8 week mindfulness based stress reduction course (MBSR). It is a well-researched approach which invites people to cope better with everyday stress through developing mindfulness skills. The course combines experiential learning of mindfulness practices with reflection on the effects of bringing attention to the breath and the body during stillness and movement. It is taught weekly in 2 hour sessions and also includes a day of practice, a workbook and access to audio recordings for home practice.
2pm to 4pm on Friday afternoons.
The dates are:
3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th May (no class on Friday 31st May as it is half-term)
7th, 14th, 21st, 28th June. The Practice day is on Sunday 16th June from 10-3pm.
Shropshire Mindfulness are using Castlefields New Buddhist Centre, Queen St, Shrewsbury SY1 2JU. (The MBSR course is secular). There is some on street parking or you can park in the nearby Spa carpark and walk through.
Commitment Throughout the 8 weeks, you need to allow up to 45 minutes a day for home practice and the expectation is that you will attend a minimum of 6 out of the 8 weeks.
